Specifically, nine of the ten common holidays throughout Spain will be national holidays "not substitutable" by the autonomous communities: January 1 (Monday), March 30 (Good Friday), May 1 (Tuesday), August 15 (Wednesday), October 12 (Friday), November 1 (Thursday), December 6 (Thursday), December 8 (Saturday) and December 25 (Tuesday).

In addition to these holidays another one is added, the 6 of January, Day of Kings (Saturday), that will be celebration in all the independent communities because no region has decided to change this festive one to another day. Along with these ten national holidays there are three more that the autonomous communities can substitute: March 19 (San José), March 29 (Holy Thursday) and July 25 (Santiago Apóstol).

On March 19 will only be a holiday in Comunidad Valenciana and Murcia (it is a National Holiday but they are the only ones that have not exercised the faculty of substitution). On March 29 (Holy Thursday) will be a holiday throughout Spain except in Cantabria and Catalonia (exercise faculty of substitution). July 25 (Wednesday) is also substitutable and will only be a holiday in Galicia.
